overview

I joined my mother on her annual visit to her childhood home in a Hong Kong village. The house is still home to my 95-year-old grandfather, affectionately known as Gong Gong. Spanning several weeks, the film captures our daily routines, unfolding entirely within the family's compound.

This shared, intimate space reveals the shifting dynamics between three generations living across deep divides. Separated by a lack of common language, distant cultures, and distinct lifestyles, the film explores a longing for closeness, examining the unexpected forms through which intimacy can emerge.

I am an interdisciplinary artist, documentary filmmaker, and community organizer currently pursuing an MFA in the Design & Technology program at Parsons School of Design as a Fulbright fellow.

I craft stories and systems with and for humans in an era of humanization; asking how do we stay in ‘touch’ in a digital world?
